Refreshing

This past weekend was General Conference, and wasn't it so refreshing? I always have conference on in the background, but this time was different. This time I made a goal to watch every single session. I admit that in the past I have not taken conference as seriously as I should. Usually I would wake up just in time for the morning session and turn on my TV while dozing off, cleaning, or daydreaming of other unimportant things. Occasionally I had to work during some sessions, but luckily not this year. My goal was to relax and concentrate on each session. This was the best thing I could have done for myself, because I really needed to hear some of the teachings. All of the sessions were great, but I absolutely loved the 2nd Saturday, and the 2nd Sunday sessions. Here are a couple talks that really stood out to me...

Lynn G. Robbins spoke about "To Be or Not To Be". This was one of those talks that is almost too simple to comprehend. I will definitely have to re-read this one. What I got out of this talk was to not just  things off of your to do list, but actually be the things your are "checking off". This talk made me really want to be a better person, and do things because it's who I am, not what I'm checking off of my to do list. This talk was so simple, yet so good.
Richard G. Scott had a wonderful talk. He talked about his wife, and how much he loved her. I'm not even going to attempt to reword what he said, because it's impossible. This is a talk that everyone should read for themselves. He talked so sweetly of his late wife, and it gave me the chills. I know I'm young, but this talk made me want to get married to the love of my life and be each others best friends. I know that marriage isn't perfect, but I know it can be so amazing. I think everyday of the time I will have a husband and family of my own. :)

Some of the other talks I really enjoyed were Jeffrey R. Holland, Boyd K. Packer, Russell M. Nelson, David A. Bednar, and the list goes on. I am so grateful for conference, and how it answers so many of our prayers. April is a good month to have conference because it is starting to get warm (we'll see about that, haha) and it makes you feel so refreshed. It always gives me that boost that I need. :)
